Privacy Policy
Effective date: 22 April 2026
Vakit ("we") provides prayer times and Qibla direction and is offered
as a free, non-commercial service. This page explains the small amount
of data we handle and why.
What we collect

Approximate location (latitude & longitude).
Used to calculate prayer times and to point the Qibla. Sent to our
server only when you open the app or refresh your location, and
stored in anonymous form along with the resulting city record
(no name, phone, or account is attached).

Device & app info.
App version, platform (iOS / Android / Web), OS version, device
model, and language. Used to serve the correct data and to
diagnose issues.

Anonymous crash & error reports.
If the app hits an unexpected error, a short report (error
message, stack trace, app version, OS, anonymous installation ID)
is sent to our server so we can fix it. The report never includes
your name, email, contacts, photos, or any file on your device.

Server logs.
When your app contacts our server, we record the request URL,
timestamp, and IP address for abuse prevention and debugging.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number,
contacts, photos, microphone, or any identifier that can be linked
back to you as a person. We do not create user accounts.
In-app donations
Donations are processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google
Play. Your payment details are handled by Apple or Google and are
never seen by us. We only receive a confirmation that a purchase
succeeded.
Notifications
If you enable prayer-time notifications, reminders are scheduled
locally on your device. No notification content is sent through our
servers.
Third parties
- Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution and donations.

Firebase (Google) — anonymous usage analytics
(for example, app opens). You can opt out via your device's
advertising / analytics settings.
Google's privacy policy.

Geocoding providers (Google Maps, Geoapify) —
we forward your coordinates to resolve the corresponding city
and timezone; no other information is shared with them.
We do not sell data to anyone. We do not use your data for advertising.
How long we keep data

City records derived from coordinates: kept
indefinitely; they are not linked to you.

Server request logs: kept for up to 90 days.
After 90 days the IP address is removed so the log becomes fully
anonymous; non-identifying fields may be retained longer for
statistics.

Crash / error reports: after 90 days we
automatically remove the IP address, anonymous installation ID,
and session ID so the report becomes fully anonymous. The remaining
non-identifying fields (error message, stack trace, app version,
platform) may be retained longer for debugging and statistics.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, UK, Turkey (KVKK), or a similar jurisdiction,
you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion
of any data that relates to you. Because we do not create user
accounts, there is usually nothing personal to link to you;
nevertheless, you can contact us (see below) and we will do our best
to help. You can stop all further data collection at any time by
uninstalling the app.
Children
The app can be used by people of any age. It is not, however,
specifically designed or marketed for children under 13, and we do
not ask for or knowingly collect any personal information from
children.
